This just grosses me out!
 
I just found out that my sternal fracture was NOT due to blunt force trauma...it happened at the exact same time as the  compression fracture of my spine.  I hit the floor SO hard that my spine compressed and my sternum cracked upward!  EWWWWWWWWWW!!!

I KNOW! It is really grossing me out! Don't praise me yet...the neurosurgeon will assess my progress on Friday...I'll let you know what he says...

For me it's not so much "ew" as "OW"! (and I get this mental image of your internal organs going *squish*--not good!)

I really don't know anatomy that well but I agree...you would think more thing would have gotten squished! But I'm assuming that is what my skeleton is there to prevent!
